The Weekly Tudor
Today at Sutton House a lot of events took place such as music, dancing, acting and a very big crowd. Somehow, I do not know how, but the dispossessed got into the house. Perhaps for a different place to sleep, because when they slept on the street people kicked them. The dispossessed begged for money and food from the people in the house, but they ignored them.
Ralph the master of the house was expected back but was late because he wanted the King to sign some documents. So he had to go out hunting to catch him in a good mood.
A musician was hired for a party and was promised two shillings. The Musician got cross because Ralph was late and the party would have to be another day. This mean't the musician couldn't be paid.

Salad Day
A few days before the performance we learned to make a tudor salad with peppercorns, sugar, oranges, cucumber, lettuce radish and carrot (etc.) The sugar was in a huge lump so it had to be dropped and hacked with a mini hammer and the pepper had to be grinded with a pestle and mortar. They had to be in a nice pattern that you chose.

Quill Writing
On the same day as Salad Day there was quill writing (quills are made of bird feathers.) We didn't use parchment because there wasn't any of it there so we used paper instead. I thought it was quite easy but some people thought that it was tricky.
Daily Tudor News:
